Forty-two of those arrested in the disorder were tried in the Court of Special Sessions. ? of those cases were sent to the court by Magistrates; the remaining ? came from the grand jury (the grand jury decided that those cases should be prosecuted as a misdemeanor and issued an information; when the grand jury decided that a case should be prosecuted as a felony, it issued an indictment and sent it to the Court of Special Sessions)
