[Photograph] "A Sample of the Window-Smashers' Work," Home News, March 20, 1935, 3.

Caption: "This is just a sample of the damage done in Harlem last night and early this morning during the rioting which resulted from the circulation of reports that a colored boy had been brutally beaten during a shoplifting arrest. Hundreds of stores along the principal thoroughfare of Harlem suffered similar damage. Many of the establishments were looted after the windows were shattered. This store, a haberdashery, is located at Lenox Avenue and 125th Street."
