"Beaten" (1)

Elizabeth Nadish, a nineteen-year-old white woman, was allegedly assaulted while "walking" in Harlem. The only report of the alleged assault was a photograph published in the Daily Mirror. The caption provided no information on where or when the assault took place. Similarly vague was the form of assault; Nadish could have been "beaten" by an individual or a group.
