Block’s name appears only in lists of the injured published by the NYJ, NYDN and NYP. His injuries are different in each list, with the NYJ reporting Block was bitten on his fingers, the NYDN on his left hand, and the NYP on his right hand. No details of when or where the incident took place are included, but being bitten was not an injury that could have been suffered incidentally, so the event was an assault.
